Artist's Note:
Sitting huddled in front of a gas fire one dark winter night I saw in my peripheral vision a rather geometric looking woman's face. When I looked there it vanished, so I scrawled it down by pretending not to look.
The painting stood for some time unfinished until I realised it would be nice to give her a pearl earring.
