Artist's Note:
It happens now and then that a painting essentialy paints itself, and this was one of those occasions. With very little plan in mind other than to paint a scarab beetle I started throwing paint and turps onto a small canvas and very quickly this little guy emerged.
A similar thing happened with another beetle painting some while later, also a scarab.
