Artist's Note:
This piece was specifically made to live on cushions. It's based on 'Country Residence', but the stripey gent seems to have left. The flying boat is a very loose rendition of an amazing craft called a 'whaleboat', not used to hunt whales but instead it was used to lug coal over the stormy Great Lakes. Instead of a deck the top is curved to allow waves to wash over.
