For years I've wanted to paint an all grey piece and this is finally it, although perhaps different to what I saw in my mind.

Beneath the grey is a base of yellow ochre which pops through here and there. One of these looked like a comet, so that set the theme. I added a loose rendition of some constellations, and later added a moon.

It's a departure from the recent spate of whimsy, and I rather like it.
